The Centre for Materials Research (CMR) set up in 2000 with funding from AICTE focuses on research pertaining to the processing and characterisation of composite materials on the basis of fatigue, wear, and machinability.
The Centre for Materials Research (CMR) set up in 2000 with funding from AICTE focuses on research related to the processing and characterisation of composite materials on the basis of fatigue, wear, and machinability. A 100 KN capacity computer-based universal testing machine with a heating and cryogenic chamber has been commissioned at the Centre to aid research activities. The Centre’s research efforts have been bolstered over the years with funding from AICTE, UGC, CSIR, and TEQIP – I & II.
The Centre for Materials Research (CMR) was established as the Composite Materials Research Laboratory in 2000 to pursue research leading to Ph.D and provide education in the Department of Mechanical engineering for both UG and PG Scholars and in interdisciplinary field of Materials Science and Technology. The Centre carries out research in many frontier areas of polymer composites and material Science, Active research groups exist in the fields of Processing and Characterization of Materials. The Centre is focused on the research of the processing and characterization of Composite Materials on the basis of fatigue, wear and Mach inability. A 100 KN capacity computer based universal testing machine with different environmental conditions like, elevated temperature and cryogenic and room temperature has been commissioned at the Centre for the research activities. The centre has been bolstered over the years through funding from AICTE, UGC, CSIR and TEQIP – I, II and III.
Since its inception, the Centre has supported the research activities of the many candidates in completing their doctoral programme. So far six candidates have successfully completed their Ph.D. programmes with the support of the Centre.
Here's a glimpse of the various activities, research, and achievements of CMR through the years.
