XTSAE - 08
XTSAE-08 will be held on the 10th, 11th and 12th of April 2008. The following events have been planned to be conducted during XTSAE-08
This is the newest and most exciting event at XTSAE. We ask you to design and fabricate something out of junk materials within the allotted time.
There will be a preliminary round in which the team has to complete given tasks and a written round. The best 6 teams will be selected for the final round.

This event is designed to test to the ability of the contestant to design and fabricate a machine with the given material which would be evaluated on the basis of a test run, aesthetics , creativity, manufacturability & solid engineering principles. To make sure that all is not just creative genius the participants will be tested about their Mechanical Engineering know-how and reasoning qualities.

It’s an event where a 4 member team has to assemble parts within a given time interval. The catch this time around is that the participants have to solve certain cryptic clues to get their parts. This event requires the participants to use both their brains and brawn. The participants here have to think fast & act quickly.

The goal of this event is to find & repair a snag in a car. This would be a hot situation as there would be a time limit and you’re expected to make the best of the worst with sheer presence of mind and ‘mechanic’al skill.
This event will be hosted by Mr.Thejaswi Udupa of Karnataka Quiz Association, a pioneer organization for quizzing in India. Exciting prizes are in the offing.

This is DESIGNED to test all you GEARHEAD’s real calibre with trivia on cars, bikes, trucks, aircraft and everything which has wheels and gears. Expect a tough challenge. You need to be obsessed about Automotive Engineering to get through this……
The event is as simple as the name suggests. The goal is to design the given mechanism or solve the given design problem. We give you a problem, you give us the solution. You’ll have lots of time to do it so make sure the answer’s perfect, as we only accept the best solution.
Use AutoCAD & your imagination to draw the machine elements, parts, accessories on the computer in the shortest time possible, but the catch is that the drawing must be as close to perfect as possible.
The ability of an engineer to give a perfect representation of the brilliant image he/she has is very important. This is what one has to do here. But DO NOT expect any mundane Engineering model here; it WILL be something out of the ordinary.
Mad Ads is an event which tests the creativity and the variety of ideas used for marketing the advertisement of a technical product. The team is required to enact as many advertisements for the product in a given time duration. This event aims to create an entertaining environment to a technical fest.
