Welcome to SAE@NIE
The SAE chapter in National Institute of Engineering, called as the SAE@NIE was started in the year 2002 with 6 members. With over 152 students for the year 2007-08 and 2 dedicated faculty members, SAE@NIE has become an active student organization with more and more enthusiasts showing keen interest in all SAE activities. The association since inception, has been organizing various events, programs and talks related to the Automotive sector. SAE@NIE conducts an annual technical fest called XTSAE where various events are organized, which sees the participation of students from over 15 colleges from all over Karnataka.
- SAE@NIE bagged the ‘Most Innovative Award-2006’ at the SAE Student Convention 2006 (southern section) held at B.S.Abdur Rahman Crescent College of Engineering, Chennai, presided by SAE International President Mr. Greg Anderson & also received accolades as the ‘Best Collegiate Club’ in the region.
- A team from SAE@NIE won the SECOND place in the year 2005-06 in an Innovative Design Competition organized by Schneider Electric.
- SAE@NIEmembers participated in a National Level Technical Extravaganza held in MVSR College of Engineering, Hyderabad during the year 2005-06. They won the SECOND place in the CADD Contest.
- Successful revamping of a SIPANI MONTANA car by a team of SAE@NIE members as a part of SAE funded practical work experience.
