N.I.E. has a Library, with a collection of over 60,000 titles, it includes Abstracts, Technical reports Proceedings, Data handbooks, Standards, Manuals, Directories, Year book, Biographical sources, Gazetteers, Text books, Theses and Dissertation, Encyclopedias and other general books recommended by teachers and students. The 3-floor spacious Library, located in the main campus, is one of the best engineering college libraries in the state. It receives about 80 selected periodicals and technical journals and about 50 general magazines. Abstracts, technical reports, proceedings, data handbooks and BIS and other important standard manuals, encyclopaedias are also available.

The Library that has a user strength of about 2300 extends its facilities through separate lending sections for undergraduate and postgraduate students, reference section, general book bank for SC/ST students, special books section and journal section. Also, the NIE Library, a member of the Mysore City Libraries Consortium, has computer, audio, video and photocopy facilities. Exhibitions of latest books are being arranged regularly.

The NIE library comes under Library Apprentice Training Scheme of the Government of India.
