Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering

In the year 1971, the institute started the Electronics and Communication Engineering course for the benefit of students who are keen on knowing subjects from traditional to modern aspects of Electronics. The programme emphasizes the basics of Electronics, Computers, Communication Engineering and Instrumentation. The full-fledged department started functioning from the year 1987. The department is well equipped with modern laboratory facilities and good infrastructure.

The Department has seven major laboratories, Viz Electronics lab, Integrated Circuit Lab, Power Electronics Lab, Communication Lab, Microprocessor Lab and Computer Lab. Newly added labs are VLSI and Embedded System and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) labs. Supported by latest software tools.

The Department has successfully completed many industry and KSCST sponsored projects. Indeed, a few members of the teaching faculty have been recognized as textbook reviewers and fellows of Institution of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers. With competent staff and adequate equipment, the Department can take up research / consultancy work on electronics, communication and allied fields.
