Department of Computer Science & Engineering


The Department of Computer Science & Engineering, was started in the year 1983. It has grown by leaps and bounds over the last decade in terms of infrastructure, courses and faculty.

The department has three Professors, five Assistant Professors and sixteen Lecturers. The department has received the World Bank grant under TEQIP which has been utilised for enhancing the facilities of the department and also for the faculty development programmes. The department is a recognized centre for academic research and has produced 5 Doctorates. It has 2 qualified professors as research guide and three candidates are persuing Ph.D under VTU.

Facilities

The CS Division has 15 spacious computer centres with more than 400 Computers. The Department has the latest hardware and software, multimedia projectors, laser and colour inkjet printers, digital camera, scanning and image transformation facilities. The Campus Wide Networking facility connects all the departments, hostel, office and Golden jubilee block. 13 different servers including higher range servers running on the LAN.

A separate Internet Laboratory houses about 60 computers, has a dedicated leased line connectivity of 10Mbps along with 3 separate ISDN lines for Video Conferencing. The Internet facility is available for use from 7.30a.m. to 10.00p.m. The Computer Science Division has deparmtnet Library with 1600 books offer service to the department staff and students.
