CENTRE FOR MATERIALS RESEARCH

The Centre for Materials Research (CMR) was set up by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in June 2000. Dr.B.K.Sridhara, Asst.Professor, is the Chief Co-ordinator. The main objective of the Centre is to carry out advanced engineering research in materials processing and testing.

Facilities available at CMR:

  • Rotating Beam Fatigue Testing Machine
  • Aluminum Composites Processing Furnace.
  • Muffle Furnace
  • Lathe Tool Dynamometer
  • Microwave Laboratory Furnace (2.4 KW)
  • Infrared Pyrometer
  • Wear Testing Machine

CMR has a well equipped Computer Centre with most of the software related to research projects.
