Centre for Energy Management & Testing Systems for Electrical Apparatus (CEMATEA) was established in the year 2002, to render technical service to industries and other organizations and promote industry institute interaction.
The two major areas of activity of this centre are in Energy Management and developing Test Systems for Electrical Apparatus.
A Test Centre for Electrical Apparatus has been established and it is authorised by Electrical Inspectorate, Govt. of Karnataka. It is the only authorised test centre in the Mysore District apart from the one established by KPTCL, Mysore Division.
Periodical testing of electrical apparatus at all installations is absolutely essential to ensure efficient operation of electrical system and as a precautionary measure to avoid accidents. This test centre takes up periodical testing of various electrical apparatus like Transformers, Switch Gears, Protective Relays, Instrument Transformers, Energy Meters and other electrical apparatus in all electrical installations on site and off site.
In a nutshell the main objectives of this centre are to:
- Render consultancy service to Electrical consumers for a better and safer quality of electrical installations by means of periodical testing.
- To take up energy audit of industrial and other organizations and recommends energy conservation measures.
- To provide a forum for interaction between the various organizations associated in promoting energy conservation and safer and efficient electrical installations.
