Overview
NIE Software Development and Solution Centre, was initiated by Mr. S K Lakshminarayana, Hon. Treasurer (Chairman of the Centre), on December 11th 2010 under the guidance of the Principal Dr. G.L Shekar and Mr. Sanjeev V Lalgudi, Ast. Professor from the Department of Information Science & Engineering has been appointed as the Director this centre.
Objectives
- To utilize the existing infrastructure and to satisfy the current software automation needs of the institution.
- To view change in the market as an opportunity to grow; to use our profits, technical expertise and our ability to develop and produce innovative products, services and solutions that satisfy emerging customer needs.
- To develop & nurture leaders at every level who are accountable for achieving business results and exemplifying our values.
Current Status
The development centre has undertaken the task of developing NIE Campus Automation System, which includes the modules like: Administration & Security, Student Admission & Fee Processing, Academic & Examination departments, Library Management, Student Information System and HR Module.
The Student Admission & Staff Master module has been completed and is ready for beta testing. Data from the year 2010 has been successfully migrated from the defunct Smart Campus system to the newly developed Campus Automation System.

About the Director: Sanjeev V Lalgudi :
Being an engineer in Computer Science (1997) an alumni of NIE, currently pursuing M.Tech in Computer networks at NIE, has worked as a software engineer in many verticals such as Telecom, Travel, Manufacturing, Health, E-Commerce etc. Also has experience in running a successful software enterprise for over 10 years. Has industry experience both in India and Abroad in companies like SIEMENS, Lucent Technologies, Motorola Inc., Intel Labs, Walt Disney and Corporate Express.
