Sri S.Ramaswamy (1888-1958)
Retired Superintending Engineer, Mysore Public Works Department.
He had received special commendation from H.H.Sri Nalwadi Krishnaraja Wodeyar, then Maharaja of Mysore. He was the first Principal of NIE.

Sri D.V.Narasimha Rao (1889-1975)
Retired Chief Engineer, Mysore State Railways.
He had undertaken major railway works in the then Mysore State and had received many honours. He was the first Secretary of NIE.

Sri T.Rama Rao (1891-1965)
Retired Executive Engineer, Mysore Public Works Department.
He had served in then Madras and Mysore States and had executed challenging Hulikere tunnel. Popularly called “Tunnel Rama Rao”, he served as Principal of NIE during 1958-59.
